Boulevard IGA – A phoenix rises from the ashes

From the ashes of a fire that caused extensive damage to the shopping centre in City Beach, a phoenix has risen, Boulevard IGA.

In late 2014, the fire destroyed 3 stores including the local IGA. After redevelopment, the Kelly Group took on the lease to bring the success and momentum from their previous stores to the City Beach community.

Boulevard-IGA---Lane-Industries---Supermarket-Fitout-and-ShopfittingIMG_4703This latest venture of James Kelly sees the culmination of his 2 other stores evolve into the ‘grand design’ of the shopper’s supermarket. With a central fresh food market core, each zone has a distinguishing feature that gives it its own personality and identity.

Lane Industries worked closely with design company, Design Theory, to develop the internal layout and fixture design to deliver the shop fitout and equipment supply in each department, including bakery equipment, front-end and checkouts, fresh produce, shelving and merchandising solutions. The supermarket has a large emphasis on fresh fruit & veg, deli eats, meals to go and supporting local suppliers.

James Kelly’s Taylor Rd store was recently awarded IGA National Retailer of the Year.

City Beach’s Boulevard IGA store opened its doors on Monday and for a peek at the supermarket a full gallery is available in the Project Portfolio.
