Boatshed pop-the-top for Wine Loft

Christine RichterEvents

The team at the Boatshed Market executed an engineering feat last week as they removed the roof of the popular Cottesloe supermarket and lowered in 4 containers to create their suspended Wine Loft.

Boatshed Market Cottesloe - file5The day started with the loading of the containers at the Lane HQ, their home for the last few month while the builders (RK Brine), architects (Matt Crawford Architects) got them built and ready.

The roof of the building was removed after trading hours and at midnight the containers were loaded in, positioned and secured and then the roof replaced… all in time for trade to commence at 6:30am!

It’s been a great project to watch unfold over the months, literally in our backyard! The climax of it last week was extraordinary!

Lane looked after the shop-fitting and internal fixtures, including wine racks and checkout counters.

Huge congratulations to all at the Boatshed and the teams at RK Brine and Matt Crawford Architects on an incredible job.

The images and videos will give you some perspective of what has taken place, but no doubt you need to get in to see it for yourself.
